Both great pets but going to say cat because outdoor cats tend to destroy wildlife in the area in a way dogs don't.

Dogs. Larger, smellier, need more food, cannot be left unattended for 24 hours if necessary. Bigger smellier shits too.

Dogs are worse. They smell, they need to go on walks to shit, they can be needy as hell, a dog bark always sounds grating and awful, and getting attacked by a dog is a thousand times more dangerous than getting attacked by a cat.

(I like dogs, honestly. I just would never want one as a pet myself. Babysitting them, which I frequently have to do, always reminds me how much I do not want a dog)

one dog ain't bad, but depending on how many cats you have and how spayed they are that shit could reach hoarder levels fast

Aww, I love both! I'd say dogs are a bit harder to manage - you have to walk them, you have to get a dog-sitter if you go away or pay for a kennel (I have someone watch my cat, but they have the luxury of leaving after an hour or two), etc.

Seems this thread needs evening out.

Cats. People get a cat and act like it is the low fuss easier option because they're too lazy to entertain it properly and instead let the cats go bother everyone else, when cats destroy things, kill wildlife, scratch cars, shit everywhere, shed everywhere, shove their stupid butts in your face, have fights on your roof, claw the couch, are left to run rampant on other peoples properties, are not controlled, breed everywhere, are little furry assholes.

You've obviously never had a cat. All of that stuff can be controlled with training and grooming.

Anon, I'm typing in the exact same kind of issues the above people are about dogs. All their reasonings will be solved with some training and grooming.

I feel like this is actually against irresponsible owners and not the cats. And there are plenty of dog owners who are irresponsible too.

I'm typing in the exact same kind of issues the above people are about dogs.

All their reasonings will be solved with some training, grooming and responsible ownership.

Haha, I'm not a dog hater per se. I just used to be super terrified of anything big(ish). I'm slowly getting better. I don't like, do this huge arc around them when I pass one on the sidewalk anymore. XD

Lol I also love both, though I slightly prefer cats. And I get irrationally angry at cat haters. "Worse" implies something that doesn't exist in a comparison of the two!

I also get irrationally angry at cat haters! Cats have pretty diverse personalities, just like dogs; writing them all off as aloof assholes is unfair (and even the aloof asshole cats can be pretty hilarious).
