Being the earlier riser or the late riser...

(Anonymous) 2016-02-19 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
When it comes to visiting people?

Early. BECAUSE IT IS ALWAYS ME. And then I have to sit around being like, "What do I fucking do now."

Ugh, this is the worst when visiting someone and I'm up at 7AM and they're sleeping until 10 or later. At what point do I wake them up?

I've learned to ask friends for their keys the night before so I can just get up and go wandering in the morning while they sleep.

Same here! And I laugh when I tell people "oh I wake up early" and they say "it's fine, I'm up by nine too." No, I'm up by like... six-thirty, seven.

I would feel awkward if multiple people were hanging out for several hours while waiting for me to wake up, especially if I were the host.

I always sleep poorly away from home, so I'm perfectly content to be reading/internetting/making breakfast while I wait for my hosts to get up. But waking up early and being stranded in a guest bedroom and unable to get to food for fear of waking someone up SUCKS.

Early, definitely. It's so awkward to wake up before the host.

Being a late riser is annoying when you're also a light sleeper because you get woken up before you want to wake up and don't get enough sleep.

Late. Because chances are people are gonna wake you up earlier than you'd like. Or they won't and you'll end up missing activities.

Personally if I got up first, I'd find something to do to pass the time. And if I'm visiting people, I'm going to want a little alone time anyway.

I've been both and I have to say earlier. I've slept in past everybody else and they didn't wake me. It was embarrassing but at least I wasn't bored out of my mind and scared to wake everybody for three hours.

I rather wake up late. When you wake up early, all you can do is sit there, wondering what to do with yourself until someone else wakes up.

I prefer waking up early. I can find somethign to do quietly to pass the time until I hear the host waking up (and then I can find a polite moment to "wake up" and say good morning), but waking up late freaks me out because then it's like I have to hurry to get ready because they might be waiting for my slow ass, or maybe I've missed activities, or whatever.
