I love how his entire body is covered in all of these edgy and striking tattoos, but the word "damaged" is the only thing that's written in dainty, neat, girly cursive lmao.

It looks so much like a shitty temporary tat it bothers me to look at it. The movie has 3 actors I like in it so I'll definitely be watching it but jesus, that'll be hard as fuck to look at for 2 hours.

While the tattoos are overmuch, I can appreciate that they're trying to do a totally new Joker and not simply trying to recreate one of the previous, iconic live-action Jokers. I think there's potential here, and though I agree the "Disturbed" tattoo does feel silly and Hot Topic-ish, overall I don't hate the aesthetic.

I think it just the idea of this Joker being the 2edgy Joker you'd totally see at Hot Topic.

Also, his merch is going to be allll over Hot Topic. His and Harley's looks are tailor made for that store.

He must be a very young Joker, because last time I set foot in a Hot Topic I felt way too embarassingly old to be in there and had to leave. I was only 27. They sell Greatful Dead T-shirts in there so I don't know how the place could make me feel too old, but somehow they managed it.

I agree about the tattoos being too much, but apart from that i kinda warmed up to the new look. I'm sure people thought Ledger's Joker was just as ridiculous back then before the movie was released.

And in regards to the Jason Todd rumor, I HIGHLY doubt it's true. That was literally just a reddit theory from someone who clearly knows jack shit about the comics and all their knowledge of Jason came from Arkham Knight which was a gross misinterpretation of his character. Although to be fair, comics!Jason has been shit for about 4+ years now thanks to fucking Scott Lobdell to the point that the character is In Name Only.

I wish Winick would come back and fix him, or at least some competent writer like Seeley, King, Dini, Orlando, or Tomasi D:

There have definitely been a share of cringe worthy moments that don't seem in character to me but is it wrong to like seeing Jason being a hero again? I'll take Lobdell over the writers who wanted to make him a straight up villainous psychopath.
But yeah, Winick's is my fav Jason.

Eh yeah, but the only one who made him a straight up psychopath was Tony Daniel, and tbh about every batfan I know doesn't consider Battle For the Cowl canon because it was stupid and awful and did dumb things to everyone else too. Oracle and Jason just got it the worst. Same with the Brother's in Blood story. It was swept aside and never mentioned again.

Lobdell though? His shitty Jason is considered nuJason and it's just... awful really. Because it's been seeped into his character to the point that this is what people think Jason is. At least the other badly written Jason's can be written off. New Jason is an awful fratbro douchebag, constantly characterized as impatient dumb muscle, vastly misses the point why he was angry at Bruce, characterized as the generic guy/dick grayson-lite when Dick was off being a super spy, and friends with Tim In Name Only which goes against EVERYTHING Jason stood for and his issues. Not to mention the whole I AM A MAGIC NINJA WITH EDGY BLOOD SWORDS bit.

Even Morrison had a better understanding of Jason's character... and I was not a fan of ginger!Jason who took cues from Kick-Ass. But at least it made some sense compared to...whatever the fuck this pod person is that's going by Jason Todd.

They can ruin the Joker all they want I don't give a fuck about him. Whatever it's makes more sense for the Joker to be moldable since he's more of an idea of evil chaos than an actual personality.

God, this entire film feels like it's trying way too damn hard to be darker and edgier. I understand wanting to set yourself apart from the more serious, straight laced Batman vs Superman stuff, and based on the trailer I honestly think it looks visually cool. But the trailer dialogue, the way everyone's playing up how super intense the shoot was and talking about how "lol I think I should be institutanlized!" just...ugh. FFS Leto you're not fucking Daniel Day-Lewis.

For me literally the only thing this movie has going for it is diversity.

He looks like someone actively trying to look like a psychopath instead of someone who is and has fixated upon clowns. Where in Chad the Acountancy Student Tries To Prove He Is Edgy-Joker is the clown aspect? I'm not seeing that at all. That is a major part of the Joker's defining characterization, where is the Clown?
