I'm very, very good at introspection and sorting shit out mentally. I'm also really good in crisis situations. And I'm a great dancer, which reminds me of my mother and my heritage and makes me feel strong and beautiful.

Hard for me because I have the self-esteem of a walnut and reconsider all my traits against people who are better at it than me, but something I do like indisputably about myself is my empathy. Feeling for others, and feeling sympathy for others, is important to me.

I've told y'all about that grant I wrote that got funded. At first they told me there was funding for $250,000.

Today I was told that was only for construction. With preliminary engineering and right-of-way purchasing, it can be up to $400,000.

I wrote a grant for almost half a million dollars. I am amazing.

for those who don't know, Lost Causers are people who are still butthurt that the South lost the American Civil War and constantly whine and lie about it to make it seem like the South was the land of noble and superior honorable gentlemen who only cared about staaaaates' riiiiights and it TOTALLY wasn't about slavery really, but the evil meanypants North had to RUIN everything by being UNFAIR and CRUEL

I'm pretty brilliant, being perfectly honest. It's not a thing I really identify with, but I hear it from other people almost every other day.

Also I have mad cooking skills, and I'm attractive enough that I can get laid whenever I want to. Also not to brag, but my SO is so incredibly fucking impressive that I look a little impressive just by proxy.

Also I'm really, really clean.

I guess I'm patient. I've always been told I'm patient, but never realized how useful it could be until I started working with special needs kids. I never get exasperated while waiting at the doctor's office or DMV. I've never held a grudge and don't understand how people can hold grudges, even while admitting they're being pigheaded. I rarely get angry. It's not even because I'm a doormat or something like that. It's more that anger and similar emotions take up thought space and energy and I'm too lazy for that.

I think I'm very pretty, I consider myself to have reasonably high emotional intelligence, and I'm good at making other people laugh.

I'm the go-to person for people who need to vent. I may not always seem like I'm listening (being friends with basketcase has taught me to go about my business while she went on her 4-hour rambles about her alt-comics sex life) but I hear every word, and try to give good, solid advice to the best of my ability when it's wanted.

I'm not really awesome. Not bad either. I have no big dreams or desires or exciting future plans but I don't want any. Being pretty good is enough for me.

Twice every year I get on stage and dance in front of a lot of people, even though I'm supernervous, kind of stiff and being one of the oldest in the ensemble. That counts as awesome, I think.

I go to new places all by myself, despite it being a little bit scary. This year I'm flying to Helsinki for Tuska Open Air, all alone.

I'm pretty great at art. And building things. And math. And self teaching. I'm like sponge i just get interested in things and absorb everything I can about them and then spit it all out in a creative manner.

I know a ton about the theatre and theatre history. I can give recs on almost any subject (English-language works + scattered in translation). I also know a lot about costume history, and can often date an outfit just by looking at it; general period pre-1800, by decade after that.

I can very constructively and objectively critique theatrical productions.

I have very good research skills, and critical writing skills. I know how to use grammar properly and edit well.

I also think I have a pretty good eye for fashion/stylish everyday clothing, but know that I can't spend everything I've got on cool clothes. But I'll find the coolest things hidden in a thrift store.

I'm very detailed focussed and can pick up minor errors that could cause long term trouble.

I'm also like 110% constantly enthusiastic which is a doubleedged sword.

I'm a grown adult in a potential career type job where if I keep my head down and mouth shut (this is sooo hard) i will possibly be set for life.

I haven't given up trying to follow my dreams. And I finally found the drive to live instead of just survive.

I am creative and when I get through my art blocks, I can draw a ton. And I'm good at.

I'm hesitant, but I usually try and help people as best I can. I come off brash and abrasive online, but I prefer being non-confrontational IRL and help. I also encourage people as best I can.

Otherwise....I'm just average with awesome qualities that emerge every now and then when I'm not being a recluse.
