Palo Alto, CA (it's in Silicon Valley) went from having a black population of 60% in the 1970's to 16% in the 2010%.

As for the socially diverse thing, I have never ever heard that. I choose my first two apartments because they were cheap and clean. I could have cared less about the diverseness of them at the time.

Plus, it's really incorrect to think generification only targets the poorest neighborhoods. I live in Portland, OR and rent all over has gone up an average of 15%. in the last two years.
