Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
What are the biggest examples of injustice you can think of? Fictional or real.

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
godwins in 3 2 1

Re: Injustices

What a stupid, stupid, stupid use of this. Of course there are instances of this among Nazis.

Josef Mengele tortured countless people in some of the most unimaginable ways possible. He enjoyed it with a sadistic glee.

"Twins were subjected to weekly examinations and measurements of their physical attributes by Mengele or one of his assistants. Experiments performed by Mengele on twins included unnecessary amputation of limbs, intentionally infecting one twin with typhus or other diseases, and transfusing the blood of one twin into the other. Many of the victims died while undergoing these procedures. After an experiment was over, the twins were sometimes killed and their bodies dissected. Nyiszli recalled one occasion where Mengele personally killed fourteen twins in one night via a chloroform injection to the heart. If one twin died of disease, Mengele killed the other so that comparative post-mortem reports could be prepared.

Mengele's experiments with eyes included attempts to change eye color by injecting chemicals into the eyes of living subjects and killing people with heterochromatic eyes so that the eyes could be removed and sent to Berlin for study. His experiments on dwarfs and people with physical abnormalities included taking physical measurements, drawing blood, extracting healthy teeth, and treatment with unnecessary drugs and X-rays. Many of the victims were sent to the gas chambers after about two weeks, and their skeletons were sent to Berlin for further study. Mengele sought out pregnant women, on whom he would perform experiments before sending them to the gas chambers.[55] Witness Vera Alexander described how he sewed two Romani twins together back to back in an attempt to create conjoined twins. The children died of gangrene after several days of suffering."

What happened to him after the war? He escaped and lived a free, happy life including skiing trips to Sweden.

uuuuuuuuh

do you know what godwins means? all it means is someone is going to make a nazi comparison. that's all

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
meaning, someone is going to list a real or fictional injustice and someone else is going to barge in going NooOooOoo hdu are you saying dragon age is worse than nazis and genocide

or you could continue to lecture about mengele if you really want i guess

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. And it is still a stupid fucking thing to say. Either they are saying someone will compare something fictional to Nazis, which doesn't even make any sense.

Or they are saying that someone bringing up Nazis as an example is somehow odd.

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
you have too much faith in the internet, man. i listed an example of what i meant above. continue to be outraged though

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
It's specifically meant for things that a Nazi comparison would be irrelevant to and the end result is that once you make the Nazi comparison, your argument is invalid.

In a discussion like this, mention of Nazis is actually valid.

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
uh yeah like in the example i listed above which no one read i said i was expecting someone to get angry that someone would say, fr ex. slavery in dragon age is the worst, therefore genocide is better than slavery, and what about nazis!? this thread is just asking for an irrational fiction to reality godwins to happen

"your argument is invalid because of godwins" is not part of godwins law. people use godwins law that way a lot but it is not necessarily the case. don't confuse the two, what the law is and how the law is used by some

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:47 am (UTC)(link)

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, definitely not. Gizel's ambiguity bit him in the ass and Marscal threw a big temper tantrum in the form of a flood when he didn't get his way.

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
gizel was cute tho

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
His face was, I guess.

I didn't have much of an opinion on him until the end, until he gave that lame speech that vaguely summarized his and his daddy's crimes, and then turned around and said something like "BUT THAT'S TOTALLY THE SAME AS WHAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE TRYING TO DO" in other words "You're just as bad as we are." Then I just wanted to kick his little vagina into next week.

Are you going to stab them in the forehead with your fingernail?

Re: Injustices

Way to just stop the whole thread from even starting, buzzkill

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
uh i would blame the buzzkill on the anon that completely missed the point and responded to my joke with a serious lecture on mengele

The Circle in Dragon Age

Fenris's entire backstory (I'm replaying DA II)

Slavery in general

Re: Injustices

(Anonymous) 2016-02-20 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, yeah, DA2 really hit on a lot of injustices. Obviously in fantasy setting scenarios, but at the core very familiar to real life, too. Also, poor Fenris. D:

I completely lost it thinking about the absolute boiling rage he must have been in by the end of the last verse.

Oh well, Cardinal Pell
If you don't feel compelled
To come home by
A sense of moral duty
Perhaps you will come home and frickin' sue me

Just imagine the grown man tantrum he must be throwing right now.
