There's such a thing as oversexualization of trans people. Trans women have felt the effects of it since the 80's, and trans men have been a topic of fetishization since the mid 90's. While it might just be "one fic from one author", it has a cumulative effect.
I always respect when people acknowledge how their fic is very clearly just fantasy. That's basically all I, personally, as a trans person need. Just an acknowledgement that this isn't how you feel about trans men in real life. Because I've followed trans fics to their author's blogs before and have seen some...real life fetishization issues going on, following trans male blogs and reblogging trans guys pics with really fetishy shit in the tags, that sort of thing. Anything over and beyond acknowledging fantasy vs reality is just icing on the cake in my opinion. Maybe they can start thinking why they headcanon all the short, thin, not traditionally masculine characters as FtM, and perhaps try and break that mold a bit if they feel so inclined. (I'm still waiting for FtM Asahi! There was one fic for it, but the author deleted it after the first chapter pretty quickly.)
