For me, the lack of chest scars would make it hard for me to suspend my disbelief. Admittedly, it's maybe possible that the character was on puberty blockers, and never grew breasts, but then you have to acknowledge the culture a show takes place in, and the truth is, Japan is kind of shit re: trans issues, so puberty blockers are highly unlikely.
