As in I believe in a mostly open border with few restrictions.

Eh, I'm gonna have to disagree with this one. I mean, I've always wanted to live in France; does that mean I should be able to just up and move to France just because I want to? What if I can't find a job there? Should the French government then be obligated to support me? I don't think it's fair to a country to expect them to be willing and able to just take in anyone and everyone who wants to live there. There need to be regulations for the sake of maintaining the country's economic and social structure.

I'm 100% for legal immigration and I think the process needs to be made much easier than it currently is, but I don't think the US or any other country should just let any old person who wants to live there in. There should be a need for them to prove that they have the ability/skills to contribute positively to the society of the country they're immigrating to.
