F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

I kind of dislike the recent movies for making the fandom focus be SO much on the Les Amis (because pretty young guys!).

But tbh I'm just one of those bitter musical/book fans and Valjean/Javert shippers so my complaining is probably silly. On the brightside, there's still a ton of fic. AND because it's less oversaturated than the Les Amis stuff, I think it probably suffers less from an influx of bad fic and ooc in-name-only bakery AUs.

One of the things I think is interesting about Les Mis is that Valvert fans and Amis fans seem to stay very separate - not in any kind of malicious way, they just don't have much in common and don't interact.

Its kinda cool though that the (book especially) canon is so rich people can latch on to so many different things though.

True. I'm sure somewhere out there is a small, dedicated group of fans of the sewer systems of Paris.

but WHERE is the Battle of Waterloo fandom?? HMMM??

(Kidding aside though I always wanted to see more fanfic about young Fantine and her relationship with Favourite, Dahlia and Zephine. Especially if it involved femslash, shh)

I've been in and out of the fandom for 20+ years, and the huge focus on Les Amis is definitely not a recent thing (but maybe that's just always been the part of the fandom I stumbled into). The endless modern AUs on the other hand...
