F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

List of threads:

OCs

(Anonymous) 2016-02-21 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
FFS, Jaybie is not the only person here who has ever made OCs. Lots of us have, and we don't even regret it.

Jaybie went through a phase where she could not stop talking about her OCs, diving into more or less unrelated posts to say "That reminds me of this one OC I have..." That was kind of annoying, but, astonishingly, she got over it.

Jaybie's hater anon, however, never has gotten over it and needs to shut the fuck up about both Jaybie and OCs.

Yeah, she got over it after she got flamed to a crisp. If the trolls hadn't stepped in then she'd still be doing it.

So what's the point of continuing the harassment?

I don't get that. Why continue it more than a year afterward to the point where everyone but the harasser is fed up with it.

It happened it's over, it's time to move the fuck on. I don't even believe it's about OCs anymore, it's about personally hating this person to a psychotic degree. There's no justifying it. It's insane and it's creepy.

You can't rationally defend it, so just stop trying. Whoever's doing it needs to leave.

So that's your justification for it eh?

That's what you tell yourself,so you can convince yourself you're not really doing anything wrong.

Well nobody buys it. Maybe instead of coming up with straw grasping defenses for why it's okay, you just listen to everyone and many knock it off.

Well that's fucking rich, coming from the person who has continued their bullshit in spite of nearly everyone including the goddamn admin telling them to shut up for over a year now.

So does that mean it'll take getting flamed to a crisp to make you stop? Because I for one am up for that.

GG guys. I guess it's true. An elephant never forgets...

"diving into more or less unrelated posts to say "That reminds me of this one OC I have..."

IIRC the thread where that happened was a "characters you'd like to see" post or something to that effect, something about characters. I believe she admitted afterwards that it was a case of being unaware of how she was coming across.

It was annoying, definitely but but it seemed to be a lapse of social understanding if anything. And yes she did get over it and actually apologized for the incident in question (she seemed pretty upset that she had made people angry with her) once some people explained it instead of just berating her.

That day there was a lot of discussion about OCs and characters, so I'd guess she just got excited and forgot herself like a lot of people can do when a subject they particularly enjoy is being discussed, especially if they lack self awareness and social judgement. I know I've embarrassed myself when people started talking about anime in real life a fair few times.

Plus, at her worst Jaybie never deserved the hateful trolling, and she was nowhere near as annoying as her troll continues to be. The fact that the troll thinks they've accomplished some righteous public service may be the most pathetic thing of all.

Ugh yes. The way the troll continues to insist that they're in the right is tiring.

And they're very pathetic. Like congrats, man, you're putting more than a year's effort into cyberbullying someone (probably with some sort of social disability) to "teach her a lesson" for the horrible crime of being overenthusiastic about something you don't like.

I don't even think she cares that much either. I mean sure she pops up to correct someone who's saying something false, but other than that, I don't see much reaction to it.

Does this person get some kind of weird thrill out of a bunch of people telling them "knock it off, you're being a dick" and "okay your obsession with this person is creepy". Is this really what trolling has come to, acting horrible and unbearably obnoxious and just getting a kick out of people reacting to it?

Sad.

As a sorta-former-ish troll, this is thoroughly embarrassing.

I mean, trolling used to MEAN something. When I did it, it was an art form. Carefully chosen recipients, carefully chosen words... more importantly, not going *way* too far.

But this sad sack is just... something else. Stalking someone for over a year after they've pretty much completely dropped the behavior they were being made fun of for? Basically just flooding threads with mindless attention-seeking and a truly half-assed sense of self-righteous rationalization?

Man, they really give us bridge-dwellers a bad name. I may have been something of a rogue and a villain, but I had standards.

I know right? At least you chased the three billy-goats gruff instead of also going after the butterflies that fluttered near the bridge.

I wonder if that sad-sack wannabe-troll needs to get laid or something. Probably can't.
