I rarely bear grudges, but the exceptions are people who belittle me based on something they did wrong/misunderstand. It's been years, but I still really resent my primary school teacher for marking a completely normal figure of speech in an essay I wrote as an error because either she didn't get it or was sure that a primary school kid wouldn't be able to use that figure of speech correctly. (Same with another teacher a few years later - an English teacher whose English was apparently worse than my own because she kept marking perfectly correct words as "wrong").

I'm with you on that one. I'm still furious over the substitute teacher who claimed that salamanders are lizards. They are amphibians, gdi! It's been around 25 years now.

Yep, 25 sounds about accurate for the primary school thing as well. Worse, I'm still not sure what I'm more annoyed about - that she marked it as wrong or that I didn't get the chance/gather the courage to tell her...

I'd say not getting to correct the teacher. There's no closure that way.
