Re: Favorite Stores in the Mall
Big W - an Australian department store, where my favoured sections are entertainment, toys, stationary and food (which is mostly just junkfood).
EB Games - a video game chain in Autralia and New Zealand (I did stop and poke about one in Auckland while I was there - it prompted me to put in my pre-order for The Witcher 3).
I am a bit sad that GameTraders, another game store I know of, has closed. They had a cabinet of metal collector swords and I had been eying their Anduril for a couple of months.
Mr Toys Toyworld - toystore chain. Mostly I go looking at current Lego. I did get the paint I used on my recent Lego Silmaril project from them.
Aldi - supermarket. I only go there to look at some of their more unique specials, as they sometimes get in imports of a more European flavour (they're a German company).
Coles - It's my supermaket of choice.
The Vietnamese takeaway - because I like sushi. I also like Vietnamese ricepaper rolls, but right now this one is the only store I trust to get them at, as the sushi store at the centre I usually do my shopping at changed hands last year and the new people changed the way they make ricepaper rolls and added mayonnaise.
Toys R Us - I think this is the only surviving Toy R Us in Brisbane. t the moment, like TOyworld, my favourite section is Lego.
Top Sushi - a sushi takeaway chain.
T2 - tea store that sells loose leaf teas - black green white, red, herbal, fruity - plus all sorts of tea-making equipment - cups, saucers, pots, jugs, mugs, bowls, whisks, spoons, strainers, infusers, bags, timers, books and even a dedicated tea kettle, but it cost up around $300. There's two stores I can easily reach, one in the mid-southern suburbs and one in the city. It depends on what else I have planned for the day which I go to.
Gon-Cha teashop - a bubble tea place that I have decided makes the best tea for my tastes. There's all of two shops in Brisbane and I only recently found the second as it's hidden in an arcade in the CBD.
Asian supermarkets - there's two different types I have easy access to, one seems more Chinese while there are two more Korean ones in the CBD. I tend to favour the Korean ones because they have Yuga-cha, and I have grown fond of Korean seaweed snacks.
Target - another of the big department store chains in Australia. I don't think it's related to the American Target.
Art Riot - art supplies store.
Lincraft and Spotlight - fabric, haberdashery and craft stores - Lincraft is easier to reach as there's a store in the city. Spotlight in bigger and nextdoor to Ikea, but it takes two buses to get there despite being geographically close to my house. I don't want to have to walk around there though.
That covers at least three different places - two large shopping centres plus the Brisbane CBD.
Last note: The Cat Cuddle Cafe, located in the suburbs just north of the CBD. It's a place to spend time with cats, which with my living situation (not allowed a cat by Body Corporate rules), it's a new favourite.
