And Hook, and Rumpelstiltskin, and whatsherface the Snow Queen, and and and ... it's OUAT. It was all downhill from season 2. To be redeemed, characters have to feel remorse, repent, apologize, try to make amends, and not keep doing it. And it would help if they were all held to the same standard. I don't even like Regina much, but Hook's being lionized for failing to kill Emma's entire family, in the same way that he was seen as not really a villain by a lot of his fans because he never managed to kill any main characters despite a lot of effort.
