THIS!

Difference ace people have different relationships with sex-- some ace fic writers don't like it and either avoid writing smut or, on occasion, throw it in because they've been made to feel like it's necessary.

Some of us love smut, for a variety of reasons-- because it's fictional and for some that's the only 'good' kind of sex, because it's related to a character we don't headcanon as asexual and we want them to have a fulfilling sex life. And-- GASP!-- not all asexuals are sex-repulsed, and not all asexuals are virgins. A person might have sexual experience, and might even have enjoyed it at the time/because of the person they were with, but still be outspoken about being asexual because of the way they (don't) experience physical desires for partner sex.

I'm not saying 'you absolutely need to go out and read some smut by asexual writers', you do you or whatever, but I am saying not every asexual 'doesn't know what they're talking about' because asexuality is a broad spectrum. And for that matter, so is porn-- there are asexual kinksters who could write with some authority on the non-sexual aspect of various fetishes, whether or not they've had experience with sex, and for some readers, having the kink part right is what gets them off more than having a breakdown of what the characters do with their genitals.

And even outside of paraphilia, again, not every asexual is sex-repulsed and not every asexual is a virgin. And if you refuse to look at fics that are recced to you based on your fandom interests because of the author's sexuality, you might be missing out on some great stuff. If the people making the recommendations are people whose opinions you would otherwise trust, you should be open to the possibility that they know what they're talking about, and if non-ace readers have found it well-written, well hey. Maybe there's more to good sex than being attracted to someone and then jamming your genitals together, maybe there's character development, thoughts, emotions, connection... any number of things that go into making a good sex scene good. And you don't have to be sexual to understand all of that.

This ♥

Plus if the V card is the standard on reading fic I guess people need to close down their ao3 accounts. Many many teens on the net writing sex scenes. Some craft them ok. Some are cringe worthy. :P
