I haven't seen the wank about this book (yet), but I read it when I was little, and as someone who had an invisible illness/disability for over a decade (CFS), the amount of people who thought I could just shuck it off with some fresh air and "getting over it" just like in this book, was horrible. The "just get over it" narrative is prrrreeetttyy common, healthy people are very uncomfortable with invisible/mental illnesses. This book is part of that wishful-thinking narrative.
