Well, if at least they'd bring him back sometimes, but in this season it's as if he never existed. And to bring Beckett back (who doesn't even contribute much to the plot) just so the fans can say goodbye, while Ford is still crazy, and captured, or dead, or free - and no one CARES - makes me hate the writers a little. And Sheppard, because hey, this is the guy who was your XO and probably died because he wanted you to be proud of him.

I know, that drove me nuts. Beckett, Beckett, Beckett! I haven't watched the show religiously since then, but I caught the one where Beckett died. Didn't other people die, too, and Weir's speech was essentially, "We've lost a lot of good people today, but we're only going to talk about Beckett and we're only going to bring his body through the gate"?

Yup - not to mention all the people who died in Season 4 - thinking of the Doppelgänger-suicide - and who are never mentioned again. I like that SGA has a lot of secondary characters who are more than just a name and a job description, an I love what fandom makes of them, but once they're dead, it's as if they've never been there.
