Pff. Everyone know that a great part of "foreign food" sold in any country is either a bland rip-off or a version adjusted to the palate of the locals even when they have at least one "native" chef.

That's not cultural appropriation, it's just business.

This. I knew a guy who ran an Indian restaurant in Japan, and he said he just couldn't make money doing the kind of foods Indians like, because Japanese people can't handle spicy food and they want everything toned down and blander. He had options on the menu that were more 'authentic' but the biggest sellers were the bland, Japanized versions.
