I recall an otherwise normal FOAF on LiveJournal saying that it was okay to patronize an independent neighborhood taqueria owned by immigrants, but not to eat at Taco Bell or Chipotle because that represented corporate America trying to profit off indigenous foodways. Or something.

Neighborhood taquerias are usually tastier than Taco Bell or Chipotle, which is a much more practical reason to prefer them than some sort of ideological "correctness".
