Yes. This is my issue with the fandom as well. Though, to my shame, though I won't read modern AUs, I have written one (it does interact heavily with the source material? So maybe?)

Isn't the kinkmeme mostly dead now, though?

It's definitely slowed down a lot, but it's still getting some fills. The mods just haven't done a roundup post in 5ever ):

Well, in my defense my modern AU is a genfic? We always need more genfic.
And it's a superhero AU, so Eren still turns into a titan. I want to think that if somebody else was writing that fic I would be interested in it.

I actually recently posted a fill on the kinkmeme, and was pleasantly surprised that I got some comments on it.
