Yeah, that gun control sure stopped the other school shooting in Canada.

I'm willing to bet that Canada statistically has far fewer school shootings than the USA. Hence, gun control working.

You would be entirely correct, and by a wide wide margin. In fact, I'm willing to bet that the USA statistically has more school shootings than anywhere else in the world.

Just Googled it - found this report, as of 2010: "The number of such incidents [killings on school grounds that had two or more victims] in the US was only one less than in all the other 36 countries put together. In 13 of those countries there were no incidents at all, either actual or attempted."

nayrt

Are you seriously asking this? SERIOUSLY? That means if there were 27 killings across 36 countries from 2000-2010, there were, stay with me here, 26 in the United States. And since you apparently can't be bothered to follow a link, those countries are:

Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzogovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatamala, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Latvia, Netherlands, Northern Island, Norway, Poland, Russian Federation, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Swaziland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, and Yemen.

All of those countries have a combined 27 school shootings with a combined population of 3.8 billion. The US, with our paltry 309 million had 26 school shootings.

The total number of school shootings that have taken place in Canada ever is still lower than the number of school shootings that have taken place in the USA during the last year.

So: gun control definitely works.

This. Nobody's ever said that gun control = no more shootings, ever.

But making them a less common occurrence certainly doesn't hurt.
