Re: What is the definition of "fandom"?
Someone who simply watches/plays/reads something isn't automatically in fandom, though of course their opinion is still valid and they can certainly call themselves a fan. Being in fandom has always implied more of an involvement to me, even if your consumption of the material is mostly done whilst lurking.
