I can sort of understand why you'd find it flattering, but honestly, I think I'd try to nip this behavior in the bud, anyway. Plagiarists are a nuisance. Some of them are too young and/or dumb to realize they're screwing up, and maybe a firm word would set them straight. Conversely, if they're assholes, they deserve a sharp rap across the knuckles.
