Okay. Didn't know that. Knew about the rape (not that it was just attempted), and knew that she was his daughter, so just assumed.

Honestly don't think I ever want to watch this movie (or read the comic) if they are portraying a consensual relationship between two people after one tries to rape the other. Ugh.

I interpreted it as her having consensual sex with him later as a way to get her power back. I'm not sure if that was what it was, but that was my interpretation.

It was more of a one-time thing than an actual relationship, and she doesn't let him see the daughter afterwards.

Also, he dies in the beginning of the story and only shows up in some flashbacks, so while he's an important character he doesn't appear in a lot of the story and the relationship with the mother is only brought up a few times.

It's a plot point. The character who's atheist god literally finds faith again at the thought that this somehow happened.
