Job applying frustrations

I just spotted a job and it ends in either 3 days or 7 days, the add mentions both dates for closing. I also have some questions on the role.

I can't get through to any of the contacts! Who apparently don't work Monday so today is my only chance to clarify things if it ends in 3 days!

ANSWER YOUR PHONE. Is it even the right number? The answering machine is someone else's name?!

:( looks like that is the plan. 18 selection criteria to answer! Or 6. It is very unclear. I was also hoping to introduce myself and look interested. Maybe a quick email? But they don't mention email in the contact but it is an internal add so I can easily find it.

If your choice is to answer either 18 or 6 questions, go with all 18 to cover your bases, and it'll also make you look super proactive to boot!

Since you can't reach them, perhaps they have a space where you can include a cover letter instead?

There is! I hate cover letters even more than criteria but a necessary evil.

I wouldn't be so stressed if I could at least contact the contact!

It is legit. It is internally advertised within my company, just a different area.

Any good places to look for jobs online other than Craigslist? I've found a few good listings on career sites for city government, but Indeed.com, Monster.com, and Careerbuilder.com all make it hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.
