Thank you to everyone who sent me a dream yesterday! The only reason I stopped replying individually was because of how many more responses I got when I was only expecting two people to reply. I'm really grateful! Logged in or not, it was very kind of you!

And, to clarify, that was not not "doing my homework for me." Initially, we are supposed to turn in "raw" dreams and then doctor one of them into a full-blown 5-10 (or more) page story for class. I'll make posts here if/when he gets back to me on what I submit! :)

Ah. So you were expecting the two named users who responded. That makes a little more sense.

Ugh, again with this stuff? Don't you have anything better to do? I wasn't "expecting" anyone to respond. I just responded to the first two email notifications that I received. I just wanted to thank everyone at once instead of individually. I guess I can't win.

I was taking your side wth this post! That's what "that makes sense" MEANS. But by all means play the "woe is me I can't win" pity card. It suits you.

Ha, I have a bunch of dreams that I've based stories on. Not just short stories either, but enough material for an entire novel. But I'm keeping those for myself :P

I completely understand! I never have vivid dreams, nor do I have them very often, so the fact that he wants us to submit "raw" dreams and then create our stories is really giving me trouble!

What's weird for me is that you can't just TELL your professor that you don't dream much. I mean not everybody dreams that much, plenty of my friends are like that. I know a guy who doesn't dream hardly at all, ever (or at least never remembers them at all).
How can he criticize you for not experiencing a physical phenomenon? :/

When we tell him we aren't having dreams, he just tells us to use alarms to disrupt our REM sleep so we can wake up and write something down! He's very difficult to please, and there is literally nothing I can do to make dreams happen!

Wow, if I used alarms to randomly disrupt my sleep I would be SO FUCKING CRABBY afterwards. He really is difficult to please :/ my condolences

Thanks! Believe me, I didn't enter the class expecting to hit up friends, relatives, and on line communities for dreams! This really was a last resort because last class he literally said, "All of you need to be handing in better work. This is week 5. The pile of homework needs to be bigger and better."

Seriously, at that point I would be tempted to use makeup to exaggerate circles under my eyes, stagger into class and say PROFESSOR I HAVEN'T SLEPT ALL WEEK AND I DON'T DREAMMMMM and spent the entire class staring at him with a miserable and vacant expression in the hopes that he'd get a clue.

Yeah, this is the teacher whose mom died the Saturday before our Wednesday class and went on like usual. (I only knew because another teacher had told me.) And then the following week started class by saying, "So you all know my mom died, right?" And half the class' jaws dropped. So I really don't think he'd get the hint. He's an odd one, and I hope I can manage the rest of this semester with his hot-and-cold behaviors.
