I have a similar response to these things. I'm not thinking "Ew, why are dating that older person?" but rather "LOL why would you want to date that younger person? What do you talk about? Don't you feel like an old geezer all the time because your SO doesn't remember most of the 90s, nevermind the 80s?"

This exactly. If there's anything I question about it, it's the older person's desire to date the younger person. Not that I think it's wrong. It just makes me wonder why someone with a decade's worth of life experience as an adult, would want to date someone so fresh to adulthood.

Because the older person is emotionally immature and wants someone on their level, likes the feeling of having power and experience, wants a "trophy" or arm candy, or some combination of those. None of them flattering. Yeah, I've got a lot of disdain for those kind of people.

Excuse me, but bollocks. Sometimes they fall in love. And not everyone goes into relationships for status. I've a lot of disdain for people who assume that's what it must be.

DA

Not bollocks at all. Sure, some might fall in love, but the reasons the anon above has listed are much more common reasons for these kind of relationships.
