Really? The child assassin thing doesn't add any moral ambiguity for you? Two people clinging to each other for survival as the world crumbles around them not enough driving motive? Seriously? I think you're putting waaay too much weight on sexual attraction as a motivator. That being said, their implied romantic tension never bothered me because they seemed to be mentally at more or less the same stage, Leon being stunted from his trauma and so many years alone and Mathilda precocious from abuse and an all around shitty life. In the end, I'm happy with how they left it.
