I'm going to get Moon unless the version exclusives sway me really hard in the other direction. I'm also going to get some kind of wolf Pokemon and name it Moon Moon.

Stuff I'd like to see:

+a Pokemon actually based on a wolf (and not combined with something else; Mightyena is as much hyena as wolf)
+cool new type combos we haven't seen yet (I have a list)
+some of the mechanics from HGSS, which was IMO the best-done installment mechanically in the franchise; namely, Pokemon that follow you, and a touch screen menu that's really useful
+Sky Battles open to Pokemon that logically should be allowed to be there; i.e. if you can learn Fly, you can fucking fly into the sky and have a Sky Battle yes I'm talking about Golurk
+a break from the same rehashed plot elements. Please new Starter types (I'm okay with Fire/Water/Grass but let's have some more cool new fully-evolved combo, bonus points if it comes with a reverse rock-paper-scissors; I'm also ok with forgoing F/W/G and going another route, maybe even making Water and Grass types less dime-a-dozen in the game). Please start somewhere other than a tiny town you've just moved into. Maybe start in a big city! or in the middle of nowhere! Have a MC living with some combination of people other than just their mom. Just their dad would actually be really cool.
+more challenging, not in the sense that you should have to level grind until your fingers fall off, but in the sense that rival battles are actually hard, seriously I'm sick of all the pushover rival bullshit, and maybe make the game longer (what's wrong with 10 gyms or even 12?)
+Megas for underpowered Pokemon. Especially Raichu. (If they ever go the Mega Pikachu route I'm gonna cut a bitch.) I'd love, say, an Electric/Fairy (or Electric/Dark? that's one of the type combos I REALLY want) Mega Raichu that's badass and powerful. Also, MEGA FLYGON. For some Pokemon, further regular evolutions would also be acceptable. I don't really care about baby Pokemon except I still want baby Skarmory, so that'd be cool too.
+take the "easy" types like Grass, Bug, Rock etc. and stop applying them to early gyms. let's have a Grass E4 please! In fact an E4 consisting of Grass, Water, Fire and Electric would rock. And why not a Dragon or Psychic or Dark early Gym? Come on guys, break the mold!
+a good storyline. yeah, I know: it's Pokemon. but some of them have been good. If there has to be an "evil team" make it a good one. Or do something different instead. Do a mentor who isn't a professor. Mix it up!
+ONE rival, please. ONE. It can be the character you don't choose but I like the idea of it being someone else - someone who does not resemble any of the "rivals" from the last four gens. Especially Bianca. Or Shauna. PLEASE. No more annoying singsong rivals. Sorry but I really don't like them. One rival and make them challenging to beat. It doesn't have to be Green or Silver 2.0, but hey, those guys did some things right. Bonus points if it's a girl rival. Also extra bonus points if the main villain is a girl.
+In fact, that deserves its own bullet point. Why not a female Big Bad? Please, that'd be so cool!
+I love beautiful scenery and big cities in Pokemon games, so do this please :) and keep up the good work with fun soundtracks.

ETA: +1 to all the "poison types with good stats" people that'd be really rad :)
