I don't really think 95% of fandom wears shipping goggles when looking at a parent-child relationship. People ship a lot of things but "most" people don't ship very much at all, except a few juggernaut ships. And I think non-romantic relationships are very much appreciated by many people even if they're not blogged about as often.

I just see that fandom has that problem when they really really like a relationship dynamic but don't know how else to interact with it

Do...you think this is something that happens a lot with familial relationships in canon? That they just don't know how to appreciate a parent-child relationship? Do you think it puzzles them? I don't understand this approach at all
