Out of curiosity, why is he your favorite character? Is it the whining? The temper tantrums? His staggering incompetence as a villain? Or did you just glom onto the the only youngish white guy with story arc potential in the series?

I like him because I think he's a genuinely interesting and complex character, the background material around him interested me more, and I found him an intriguing villain with a lot of narrative potential. I like the other characters, too - I just like him the best for the above reasons.

Race and gender has nothing to do with it. I like interesting characters of all races and genders, and I personally found him the most interesting character in the film.

NAYRT, but what makes him interesting and complex? I admit I've only seen the movie once, but my major impression of Kylo was that he was yet another dude with daddy issues and zero self control. There's a market for that specific type, so there's a lot of fish in that particular sea of angst. What makes Kylo Ren stand out?

The heavy implication that he has been groomed by Snoke from surrounding material, especially explicit in the novelization, adds a great deal to his character and puts a great deal of his behavior in a different context than "just another dude with daddy issues". The film implies this weakly, which is a fair criticism, but the novel makes this implication much more explicit.

lol way to jump into a discussion board only to shit on any discussion not tailored to your preshus feels. you're not the only person allowed to have an opinion, and I know this might be hard to grasp but it isn't actually the devil's work whenever someone has an opinion different from yours. there's no need for witch hunts here. if you want your pure good and evil narrative crap go check out eragon or something. I'm pretty sure they have literal vegans there too.
