11. Fuck that. I hate it when people act like ridiculous little wankers because some Europeans dislike Americans over one. fucking. American. You do realize that they're being assholes and stereotyping all Americans based on one person, right?
They think Americans are terrible for thinking the whole world should care what we think about certain topics, but they think we should all care what they think about us. They think Americans are jerks because they assume all Asian/European/British/etc people are the same, but then they assume all Americans are. They assume all Americans are ignorant while remaining ignorant to the many intelligent and worthwhile Americans. (Besides, it's the Brits who thought Winston Churchill was mythical and Sherlock Holmes was real (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2008/02/04/nhistory104.xml).)
What are they doing when they assume all Americans are the same, if not exactly what they dislike in Americans? How important must they think that they are if they think our national/international policies should be dictated by how they affect them? And, strictly speaking, in terms of international presence, etc, America is a lot more important than many places from which we garner so much criticism.
In short, people who stereotype Americans are self-important douchebags, and what do you care what they think?
