Not to say that Disney ships are inherently gross, just that I can't ship characters for stuff I watched as a kid without feeling weird.

A thought: is it because it's a fairly recent film, and thus further removed from your childhood? I'm going off the assumption that you're in F!S's average age demographic of late 20s-early 30s, ie, people whose childhood was during the "Disney Renaissance" of the 1980s-90s. So approaching Tangled from an adult perspective only doesn't tie into childhood associations of the material.

I was an adult when Tangled came out, I think.

Also what about shipping people in a non-porny way?
