There was also some genuine meta about how Ron was a good person with flaws, and that tended to be used to say 'SEE HE'S AN ASSHOLE.'

(Anonymous) 2016-02-28 02:07 am (UTC)(link)I was never in the "Harry Potter" fandom, but...wow. Seriously? That is the dumbest reasoning I've ever heard in my life. By that logic, my parents' marriage would've been abusive, since they argued a lot.
Like, do these people not understand that sometimes couples will fight? And that that's not necessarily a bad thing? There is such a thing as verbal and emotional abuse, of course, and that would certainly be wrong if a couple was going to that level of fighting.
But if a couple's simply arguing over who's taking out the trash or whose turn it is to cook or things of that sort, that's...pretty normal argument fare.
