i dont know anyone who isn't in school who sitll uses pencils

I use pencils daily at work. I'm an engineer so I'm always doing math and redrawing stuff. I have a whole array of colors. But for daily use? Mechanical pencils are way easier.

I had a high school english teacher who actually insisted everyone take notes with pens. "Pencil will smear by the end of the year."

The lead is too thin and breaks too easily. Pens ftw.

That used to happen to me a lot more than it does now. It's why I could never deal with .5 pencils. But .7 was usually okay and having an eraser and cleaner-looking overall lines* was worth not using ink.

*I understand some pens are incredibly pretty and I like those pens but they're also expensive. IMO your standard Bic ballpoint makes pretty ugly lines.

Pencil. I hate using pens, because I hate making mistakes I can't erase.

Pens. I hate having to use pencils for scantrons. They make erasable pens now, and there is white out. What is the use of pencils anymore?

Pens. I love pens, Staples is like a crack den for me...*sigh* I only like pencils if they're really, really sharp.

Pencil, but only if it's a Papermate Sharpwriter disposable mechanical pencil. I FREAKIN' LOVE THOSE.

PENCIL. Unless it's official paperwork or a card or something. I like being able to erase thank you. (Mechanical pencils only. Wooden pencils need not apply.)

Though the real answer is honestly "I type everything now"
