I know they're all but dead, but evey time I roll past a youtube video, or an article mentioning them I get filled with a horrible mix of absolute rage, physical nausea, and unbelievable terror. I hate them all so so much.

You need therapy if you feel "terror" from a bunch of people on twitter.

The things my uncle did to my mother when they were kids.

The people who treated my father badly at one of his previous jobs.

The people who treated my sister badly at one of her previous jobs.

Basically, I can easily get over things done to me, but if you hurt my family I'll never forgive you even if the other person already has.

Being annoyed by people who were dicks at work today. I don't know what's going on, but there have been SO MANY ASSHOLES lately, and I'm just so over it.

The day is over, I'm home, and I'm off tomorrow so there's no need to still be in a shitty mood over it but I can't snap out of it.

I just think it's fantastic that you've managed to fit dicks, assholes, and shit all in the same rant without cracking a joke about it.

My childhood, having two parents who were still messed up from their own childhoods and had no idea how to be good, healthy parents.

I go through cycles where I work hard on dealing with it, and believe I finally HAVE gotten over it, and then sooner or later something comes up and I get really angry or depressed for months.

Over the weekend I watched a bunch of Buzzfeed-type videos which asked women of every age from 5-50 to say whatever came into their heads when they heard the word "mother". EVERY ONE BUT ONE said lovely things like, "My rock," "my biggest supporter," "unconditional love," etc. The one woman who differed said something like, "Our relationship is...frustrating," in a tone of voice that implied her mom might have been "difficult" like mine. I wish she had gotten the chance to elaborate, or that other people with abusive or absent or unhealthy mothers had been asked to contribute, too.

As it was, the video made me cry for a long time, and not because I was touched by how heart-warming it was supposed to be.

I understand. Sometimes it seems like a lot of people win the parent lottery, but in reality, parents come in all different flavors, with varying degrees of function (or dysfunction). It really sucks when there's this societal expectation that your family is supposed to be this awesome unit regardless of history, and if you're not being the good little child and showering praise whenever you're asked about your family, then obviously something must be wrong with you.

Some of the grudges that I have against people. Some people are just assholes and I need to accept that.
