Hemorrhoids!

Do you have them? Have you sought professional medical treatment for them? How did it go?

I've had them! I went to a doctor, and she had to stick an awkward instrument up my butt so she could get a better look. (It had a light on the end, and for some reason that made me giggle like an idiot.) Fortunately they were tiny and didn't need to be banded, but still, it's just...never fun having a veritable stranger sticking things where the sun don't shine.

The hemorrhoids themselves were more annoying than painful, but they went away after about a week of eating more carefully/not straining while shitting/sitz bathing afterwards. Now I'm a lot more careful about the straining thing, haha.

I have had them externally and the pain I was in makes me want to throttle every hemorrhoid commercial that treats it like it's oh-so-funny. It's not. It was the most excruciating pain I've ever been in (moreso than the worst of cramps, yes). Didn't need medical for it, though, I just used over the counter ointment and took great care staying extra-clean until the swelling finally went down.

Had 'em. Never went to the doctor for them.

This is how I treated them:
-drank prune juice daily and avoided dairy
-learned to push from my abdomen instead of from my rectum
-took my good, sweet time for every poop
-used a water bottle to wash myself every time I pooped and then applied Preparation H

Took a couple of weeks for them to go away.
