Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

They would if it's him vs Trump.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, but that's the only way it'll ever happen.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
I won't be voting for Hillary, so I hope it does.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
You're an enormous hypocrite if you plan on voting for Bernie, but wouldn't vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm voting for Jill Stein and going to register as Independent. :)

I am now even more determined to not vote Clinton, so thanks.

ok, doom your country to a republican reign of terror. see if i care.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
You seem to care a whole lot if you're coming in here to call me a hypocrite for no reason and without knowing a single thing about my circumstances. If you scrolled down a little bit you could see why everything you're saying isn't true.

What you're doing is really a horrible way of getting people to vote for Hillary, though. :(

i dont actually care about hillary im just here to stir shit lol

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

Oh good, I don't either. :) I had thought as much since the typing patterns changed all of a sudden.

There are some anons and several users here that are very, very serious about attacking anybody who won't vote Clinton and will jump on you though. They really, really aren't doing their candidate any favors.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
They're absolutely not doing Hillary any favors, and they might do well to consider how broken the bipartisan system is if they're willing to vote for a corporate puppet because it's not the alternative.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I don't hate Hillary, I'm only not voting for her. I have no problem with people voting how they want, only with them throwing insults at the ones who aren't voting with them.

It's possible to talk about this without "corporate puppet" you know.

How is that hypocritical? It's a stretch to call Bernie a Democrat.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
OP of the thread

Yup. I have no loyalty to the Democratic Party and in a state that will most definitely be blue regardless of what happens, I don't think it's hypocritical to vote third party to give them legitimacy instead of with the "inevitable" establishment. Plus I like Jill Stein far better than Hillary Clinton to begin with.

I wouldn't use hypocritical. But considering how scary the Republican party is, I honestly side eye anyone who is voting for Bernie but who won't vote for whoever the Democratic nominee is just to try to keep the Republicans out of the White House.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
OP of the thread

My state is solid blue, always. It will stay solid blue whether it's Clinton or Sanders. I'm going to vote third party if it's Clinton to add to Jill Stein's votes since it doesn't matter. Side-eye and knee-jerk away.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
So you support a Trump presidency. Well done, you.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

If losing one vote in a solid blue state is going to make Hillary lose the Presidency, then she was an extremely weak candidate all along who was not going to bring progressives, independents, liberals, and mainstream moderates together, and the Democrats failed to realize that and failed themselves letting her win over Bernie.

Besides, saying not supporting Hillary is intentionally supporting Trump is simply not true unless you're in a battleground state, which I'm not in. You're coming off as very ignorant about how the election process works.

uhhhhh

Solid red/blue states are actually pretty easy states to vote independent in and keep your conscience clear, because your vote doesn't really matter. I live in Ohio which is a swing state (for now anyway) and I have to vote Democrat whether I like it or not.

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, someone gets it!

I wouldn't want to be in your shoes. :(

OMG, not the dreaded side-eye! Congratulations, your sheer judgeyness has changed my mind.

Agreed...

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
JFC not everyone lives in a swing state!

Re: Controversial Opinions Thread

(Anonymous) 2016-03-01 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
For one, Hillary and Bernie actually have largely the same opinions. It may not seem that way, but they seriously are not that different. Bernie's more radical on some things, sure, but it isn't like Hillary doesn't essentially have the same platform.

If you want the kind of change Bernie represents, Hillary is the alternative candidate. To do anything else is to throw away your vote. I guarantee Bernie, if he doesn't get the nomination, will ABSOLUTELY want you to vote Hillary because she is a million times closer to him than any Republican candidate.

If you don't vote Hillary, you are basically saying you don't actually give a shit about making the changes that Bernie wants.
