Re: Canon pairings you like most - or many - people don't

I can definitely see that being part of the reason, yeah. I do have in-team ships I love from there, but I think the show's been quite wise to let the team find relationships outside the job over the years. For one thing, there's SO MANY different team pairings that it'd be impossible to make one canon without fans of another getting all bugged about it, and I'd really like to avoid those kinds of ship wars playing out as much as possible.

For another, like you said, keeping the relationships outside the team makes the balance between the personal lives stuff and the team doing their jobs a lot easier to handle. Sure, occasionally Will has had a bit of involvement in a case the team was working, and then of course Haley and Maeve were immediately involved in many ways (and tragically so at that), but the show still knew how to not make those situations the sole focus of everything that was going on on the show. They brought it in when needed and then moved it back out to tell another story or focus on another character for a bit.

Honestly, if the show ever were to put any of the team members together romantically, I think the best time to do so would be in the show's final season, perhaps their final episode, whenever that is, and just kinda hint at the idea of it happening. That way fans of that pairing can imagine what would happen next after the show ends, and those that don't ship it can just see it as two friends maybe hanging out, and still go on to imagine the pairing they do like getting together eventually. Win-win for everyone :D!

Yup. Although, not sure who they could put together if they ever decided to. Maybe Rossi and the new character if she sticks around? They had a bit of a camaraderie over old cars going on.

Ooh, yeah, I'm rather liking the idea of Rossi and Tara lately. They've had some good moments together.

I think, if anything, the show would probably give a nod to the Hotch/Prentiss shippers someday-they're both single, after all, so... Unless something happens with JJ and Will or Morgan and Savannah, the chances of JJ or Morgan ever actually getting together with whatever other team member people like them with on the show are pretty much nonexistent :p.

(And then of course there's the same-sex pairings that many people are fans of. I think the show itself would be cool with that idea, but ain't no way CBS will ever go there, so...)
