Hey OP i was never super involved with the expanded universe or its fandom so I can't comment, but I will say here that I Tenel Ka from 'Lightsabers' was little disabled-anon's personal hero so you aren't alone!

Uh, yeah, they managed to screw over TWO female characters I really liked.

The best part about the EU detritus being rendered non-canon now, is that I guess you can pretend the whole thing didn't happen, especially if you write fan fic and stuff set during that time period.

And yeah, it sucks they gave Tenel Ka a raw deal. I recall liking her when I read the Young Jedi Knight books as a kid and it made me mad that everything went to shit for her after Jacen became Caedus. :/

I care about Tenel Ka! I didn't get all the way through Legacy of the Force, but I always thought she was badass. I hope they introduce another character like her in the new universe, and another planet like Hapes... I want me some matriarchal court intrigue with ridiculously good-looking people :P

I didn't read all the EU books-- mostly the young jedi books, and my full-on 'read the books' obsessive phase didn't last all that long compared to just how many books there were, but when I was reading them, Tenel Ka was my absolute fave.

Sad to hear she wound up getting a raw deal...

I was really sad. Now that I think about it, they really shit on her, didn't they? A throne and responsibility she never wanted, her mom gets fucked over, her Grandmother is half the problem, her daughter's got that destiny shit that really fucks with your life, and her husband goes from kinda distant to Galaxy's #1 fucker. Also you only have one arm.

Being Tenal Ka is suffering. Girl just wanted to ride Rancor's n'shit.
