What's surprised you recently?

I purchased a Lego City snowplow on sale. I just built it and it's so much cuter than I anticipated. I have several vehicles and most of them are okay but none of them really wowed me. This one looked nice on the cover, but the actual build is adorable. It even has a little salter and a snowpile. It's almost as good as the Lego porta-potty!

The other day someone I sort of knew died. By sort of, I mean my parents are friends with his parents, and I was friends with him and his siblings when I was really young, but I haven't talked to any of them in a long time even though I'm FB friends with most of them. Anyway, he was only about 20. At first it was thought to be a suicide but more info points to a possible not-intentional OD or some other kind of accident. It was a horrible shock. I can't imagine being his family or close friend right now. :( :( :(

Thanks.

I'm doing okay myself though of course it's looming at the edge of my mind. He wasn't someone I was close with in any way but it's jarring because I hung out with him a few times as a child. I was good friends with his older brother when we were about 8. It's just a really awful thing to have happened.

I found out my colleague is being stalked by his ex-girlfriend. Its sort of creepy. Like, creepy to the point he sort of asks one of us to the station with him because he does not want to be on the street alone. I had no idea.

does she actually follow him around all the time? is it possible to take legal action against her? /no idea how that works in Belgium

I have not seen her. She doesn't follow him around, but apparently she sometimes just...shows up? Afaik the cops have intervened once, but I'm not sure if a restraining order is possible. I don't really know details only found out today.

A friend of the family died suddenly yesterday morning from a heart attack. He was 37 years old. He leaves behind a wife and 2 sons. One of them just turned a year old in November. Extremely sad.

There's a local celebrity who I'd have sworn was a huuuuuge Republican, but apparently he's an "outspoken Democrat" which really shocked me.
