What fandoms are you in for the fandom?

And not the show itself.

None? For me the source material comes first; if I feel like talking with other fans I go looking for the fandom. (If the fandom is fun, I happily hang out; if not, I leave and squee to myself.)

Same. I don't really look at a fandom unless I'm familiar with the source material.

Now, there has been one time I've been interested in the source material, but explored the fandom before actually watching it, and that was with Hawaii 5-0. I didn't spend long hanging out in the fandom before I watched the first season, but the fanfic and the vids absolutely enticed me to get into the show.

(I'm so behind...)

da

There's a great episode this season in which Steve and Danny go to couples group therapy. It's pretty darn hilarious and gay...those two really should just get married already.

Steve and Danny go to couples group therapy

Ooo, didn't they go to private therapy last season? I feel like this isn't entirely new to them, but I'm amused they've 'upgraded' to group therapy. This show is so full of fanservice.

Same here. I have to enjoy the source material first and foremost.

I have to admit, Transformers Prime. All the post-series fan activity about the rebuilding of Cybertron and the post war adventures are just so much fun. And I have only seen two or three episodes, which were kinda meh, of the show.

TW & 1D

I can't stand the source material, but some of the fic is great.

Friendship is Magic lost me after season 1. There was a point where there were a lot of interesting interpretations of the characters, and then it became more and more obvious that the canon-compliant interpretations were often the shallowest and most self-absorbed. (Pinkie Pie in particular turned into such an asshole that it was hard to reconcile her behavior with her role in the first two episodes.) The fandom still tended towards the interpretations they'd come up with, so it was a lot easier to like the characters.

Steve/Danny from Hawaii Five-Oh.
Will and Hannibal from Hannibal, but I confess, only my friend's fic, i don't read any other in the fandom.
Eagle of the Ninth (haven't read the book, read fic before I saw the movie and thought the movie was...okay.)

Once Upon a Time. I loved season 1, but I haven't watched since season 3. But my corner of fandom's still hanging on, though we lose people with each new season.

Low-key MCU. I haven't seen all the movies and some I don't super care for. Fiancé loves Iron Man so I inherited the fandom

Sherlock is my main fandom, and I can't even stand the show itself anymore. I still love most of the fanfic, though, and that's good enough for me.

I was also moderately into Suits for a while, mostly for the fanfic, which basically took the first episode and ran with it, largely disregarding the rest of canon. The show itself wasn't bad (at least the first couple seasons which I actually watched weren't bad), but beyond the first episode, the show wasn't what I was there for.
