Well ideally I want to see people explain why they would think it's a bad idea rather than just saying "it's bad . Don't do it"

I have a position yes, and I don't really see why it's a bad idea. Literally all I'm asking is for people to be decent to each other. If all your going to do is try to convince someone not to write this thing on the sole basis of "I don't want to see it" then you're not really accomplishing anything.

Maybe i'm just being an old timer to the net but, honestly what is so damned hard about skipping over something you aren't interested in. Or not telling someone they shouldn't write something if you're only reason is "because it's not something I am personally interested in"?

It doesn't sound like you are a net old timer. If you were you would be restricting your modding to repairing technical issues with the forum software and reminding people not to discuss illegal pirating in public. Old timers on the net let the fora users go full throttle on the flamethrowers because unrestricted speech of any kind was what the net was about.

Look, if you want to spend your time firefighting and baiting trolls then go for it. If you want to keep your stress levels in check then establish some simple rules and stay hands off. If you want to do the former, go for it. Nobody is stopping you, but don't ask for feedback if you don't want to be told the opposite. You are going to have to learn to start acting unilaterally and handing out pronouncements. You should probably invest in sockpuppet detecting software too, you are going to need it.
