That's pretty gross, but at least the yeast would die when she baked the bread. I think there're still cultures where people (mostly women iirc) make beer by chewing an ingredient and spitting it into whatever needs fermenting to make the booze.

Well, there's a coffee where the beans were swallowed and pooped out by some animal, and apparently it's ridiculously good and highly sought after. And there's the fact we intentionally drink milk of other species, and not out of necessity. We'll even make a type of cheese that not only gets fed on by maggots, but absolutely must be eaten while being fed on by maggots.

Maybe we're just weird when it comes to standards.

Of course, neither pussy bread nor shit coffee appeal to me, and the only milk I'll take is the creamer in my coffee (well, I guess I'll sample some cheese, but definitely not the maggoty kind).

I love cheese but I'm sure as fuck not eating maggots!
