I'm really softcore in my love for h/c. I really only like stretching it as far as the characters suffer in canon, so my ship comforting each other over some bad thing that happens in canon is my kryptonite, but I only like the super dramatic stuff where somebody nearly dies if it's done very well. In that vein, I guess I do like physical h/c more than psychological h/c, because the latter is a lot harder to do and sometimes hits a bit too close to home.
