(Anonymous) 2016-03-06 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)I'm bi and the amount of biphobia I've seen on their masquerading as progressiveness is bonkers. Apparently just calling myself bi means I'm transphobic (even thought dating a trans man or woman or a nonbinary person would not be an issue for me). Now the term is pansexual, apparently, and using the same one I've always used is terrible. It just feels so othering to me saying that if you're attracted to/would date trans people you have to use a special term.

I think people should use whatever term they're comfortable with and people should respect their intentions with it.

Basically: if my potential partner is capable of informed consent, we're in business, whether they identify as male, female, genderfluid, animal, vegetable, mineral, or Time Lord. :p
