The levels of complete psychopathic jerkass Deadpool can reach in the comics just wouldn't work for the protagonist of a mainstream movie. Both because it would alinate the audience, and because a lot of it would come off a lot harsher in live action than it does in a medium that's known for stylistic exaggeration.
