I'm an American, but I grew up overseas. And I honestly hate wearing shoes. I used to only wear them outside and take them off as soon as I get in the house. Now, though, due to foot issues, I have to wear orthotic shoes. And I have to wear them all the time.

My mom has specially made crocs (I know) that she only wears indoors to help with all her foot issues. There are lots of slippers like this, so there's no reason to assume you need to wear the exact same shoes you're wearing outdoors.
