It seems so ass backwards. I think you need to establish individual characters before bringing them together. Unless you were going to focus on them as a group for all the movies (like LOTR).

DC should have just taken their time instead of trying to play catch up.

I can sort of agree but I can also see the situation where you have Cyborg or Aquaman - characters no one outside of comics knows about. If you introduce them in the Justice League, then people will come to see Batman and Superman, but get introduced to Cyborg/etc. They see this cool character and then recognize him when his own movie gets made, and more people will come see the movie. Marvel is doing something similar with Black Panther right now.

I mean, theoretically it's a sound idea. I'm wary of their actual execution though.

Yeah, Marvel did that with Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, etc. But Marvel also tended to wait for the second movies to do that instead of introducing 2 characters at once.
