The one thing I did like about the weight storyline was that episode where Frasier and Niles discuss the fact that Niles did tend to idealize Daphne and put her on a pedestal. I thought that was an interesting bit of honesty that you normally don't see addressed on TV shows after a couple gets together.

Agreed. That was the one thing that made that arc worthwhile. The rest of it was pretty silly, even that particular episode considering it was mostly old clips and bad SFX, but that idea always stuck with me. The show often tried to do things like that, but for me this was probably the most successful one. Maybe even because the contrast was so stark.

I love the show but I hated the weight arc, they just threw a lot of really mean-spirited, stupid fat jokes into what was otherwise a very intelligently written show. There could have been better ways to handle the actress' pregnancy. I always skip those episodes.
